These are the perfect larger size clip for fine, thin hair. I know they are considered more of a medium size for average to thick hair, but for me, this is about as large as I can get, since anything bigger emphasizes how thin my hair is. I often have issues with clips that were supposedly designed for my hair type, because I feel they don't have any grip at all. I guess this is intended to be super gentle, but it honestly sometimes ends up breaking my strands due to it slowly releasing my hairs and then I reach back and touch it or something and end up breaking off a couple strands of hair pulling it out. So I prefer a decent but not too powerful grip and these are perfect for that -- they stay in my hair, but don't pull it so tightly as to cause damage. I'd imagine this would have a similar effect in average hair, but if you have really coarse and/or thick hair, you'll probably only be able to use it for a half up/half down look -- I think it would be difficult to use these with a ponytail/twist in very textured hair. Between that and the neutral shades, I have been using these a lot recently and I really like them. Another bonus is that I frequently get migraines when wearing things in my hair or on my head, but I haven't had that issue so far with these. The only minor downside is I can't wear them in the car (as a passenger), because it's definitely too hard to be able to comfortably rest my head against the headrest. That's the case for most clips though, so I don't count it against these. Just something to note :).
